It’s the second day of Disclosure’s debut appearance in the U.S. and we’re scheduled to meet at East Village Radio at 2 p.m. on a chilly Thursday afternoon. After a phone call with Jay, their label rep, I’m asked to head over to Mercury Lounge, just a few feet away. Inside I find Guy Lawrence sitting quietly on stage, listening on as Jay finalizes details about the show with someone over the phone. After Jay hands the phone over to Guy, I meet Howard, the younger half of the duo before Guy welcomes me with a friendly handshake. Everything is locked and loaded for the night ahead and it’s time for their EVR segment. As I lead the guys and Jay back to the station, I ask Howard how he’s enjoying New York so far.
He reveals it’s their first time visiting the city—the country, in fact. He loves the city, but he hasn’t been able to satisfy his craving for some pancakes topped with loads of maple syrup.
“Do you know where I can get some pancakes? I thought Americans were all about pancakes and syrup,” he says with a chuckle.
